Good morning, all! It's reveal day! The Podfic Big Bang is over, and it's time to revel in more podfic than you can handle!

Here is the AO3 Collection, for you to enjoy!

Thank you, everyone, for joining us. This was my first Fest as a mod, and I got such a thrill as the AO3 posts came in!

Big thanks also to my co-mod, AnnabelleLocked, who kept up with your check-ins and gave me the occasional nudge to post those check-ins.

If you haven't quite finished your podfic yet, don't worry; I'll leave the collection open until end of Tuesday, for those who needed just a little extra time. Goodness knows, I was late enough times on check-in posts, I should give you all some leeway on joining the collection!

And now...go queue up those podfics and get your playlists in order. Not only do you get to binge some great stories, but keep an eye on the Amplificathon Dreamwidth page, for another little fest in April. One to not only get, but give, your appreciation to our wonderful podfic community!

Thank you, everyone. Hearing that so many of you are almost done has been amazing. I have never moderated a fest before, and was deeply worried no one would participate. Seeing people excited and producing has given me a lot of confidence.

Keep an eye out in podficcer spaces in March. I'll be hosting another fest, to show my appreciation to you, and for you all to show your appreciation to...well, everyone!

Hey, podficcers! It's our final check-in today! Things are so close! I'm looking forward to hearing how you're doing, but a little housekeeping, first:

1) The PBB 2021 AO3 collection opens on February 1st, 2021. That's when you can SUBMIT, not your DEADLINE for submission! Podfics submitted to the collection will be hidden until the collection is revealed.

2) The DEADLINE for submission to the AO3 is February 27th, 2021. If it's still the 27th somewhere on Earth, you're good!

3) We reveal the collection with a BANG on February 28th!

I'll be posting the link to the AO3 collection here (and on our other social media platforms) once it's available.

So, with that out of the way...how's it going, everyone? 31 days to go! There's still so much we can get done in that time. Don't give up, I believe in you!

What a change in five weeks. The world is looking a bit brighter, over here!

Well, my discovery today was that I can hook my snowball mic up to my phone for recording, instead of having to lug out my laptop. That's going to be a game-changer. I'm still in the running!

We're trying something a little different, this time. This post is both for podficcers to request art, and for the artists to claim it.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PODFICCERS
1) Reply to this post with the information in BOLD TEXT below.
2) One post per podfic.
3) Make sure to include your podficcer name as you want it displayed. I know some people have different Dreamwidth names from their AO3 name.
4) Guidelines/requests: Try to trust your artist, but here's a spot for special requests. For example

4a) Do you need cover art for both the mp3 and for YouTube aspect ratio?
4b) Looking for someone to do multiple parts in a series?
4c) Important elements, quotes, etc. (But, again, trust the artist!)

5) If your artist can't contact you via PM on Dreamwidth, make sure to provide your alternate contact information.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARTISTS
1) Reply "claimed" to whichever podfic you're interested in. Only claim ONE PODFIC at a time.
2) Art however you art.
3) Deliver the cover art to your podficcer. Art is due by JANUARY 15TH, 2021.
4) Once your cover art is finished, reply "finished" to the original art request.
5) Want to do more art? Repeat steps 1-4 as much as you'd like.

Well! It's been...an interesting few weeks! I hope we're all feeling better, now! With all the...everything, this check-in is late, and that's my fault. >.< I have now set up e-mail reminders for myself, so we should be on-time from now on!

So, how is everyone's recording going? Mod Kitsune's isn't! :D But this is supposed to be for fun, and I am way more excited to LISTEN than to MAKE.

Don’t worry if you haven’t accomplished anything; Mod Kitsune hasn’t, but there’s still time to do great things. Or even mediocre things. Remember, done is better than perfect!

Posting is changing a bit this year. We have 1 major changes and 1 minor one.

Major Change: Moderated Posting
The posting period is once again October 14-31. Originally, we shifted the deadline so that we could spread the podfics as evenly as we could. However, we have decided that we will directly moderate and only release 2-3 posts per day. Think of it like your Tumblr queue. That being said, if you know you'll be done your podfic by October 14, we highly encourage you to post as soon as possible, so that we don't have everyone posting in the last 3 days.

This challenge no longer has a required posting template. \o/ We will still provide a template for people who would like one, but it is not required.

Hello and welcome to our fourth (or second for artists) and final check in! This check in is very important and we have a lot of information for you so buckle up because things are changing.

(and by “things” we mean posting)

What we need from you for this check in are 2 things (just two!).

We are 6 weeks away from posting, so this is the time to take a hard look at your projects and say, "What do I need to do to finish on time?"

Cheerleaders

Your main mission is: to offer encouragement for a podficcer to complete their fanwork.
Ways to do this include: delivering liberal doses of encouragement, offering advice, providing gentle reminders of deadlines, and celebrating your podficcer's accomplishments.
You will be promoted as a resource to people who need a little extra encouragement.

Betas

Your main mission is: to review a fanwork and offer suggestions for improvement.
Ways to do this include: listening to podfic drafts or previewing art drafts and providing reviews/comments.
You will be promoted as a resource to podficcers who need help with the editing and revision process.

RULE AND REQUIREMENTS

Podficcers

Your mission is to record at least 75,000 words in a single podfic/podfic anthology.
Individual podficcers may record one podfic or many to meet the minimum word requirement, so long as all podfics can be part of an anthology.
Multiple podficcers may collaborate to record one multivoice podfic to meet the minimum word requirement.
You may collaborate with other podficcers for the challenge, but we would appreciate it if all co-collaborators signed up here so we have everyone's contact information in case we need it.
You may choose to submit as many 75,000-word projects as you choose, for an added challenge. I know there are overachievers out there...
Check ins are Manditory. We want to make sure that you complete your project. Check-ins are all on Saturdays and we will nudge you if you if we haven’t heard from you by the following Monday. Please submit your contact info to THIS google form.
You must be approximately 50% complete by the art request deadline to qualify for official art match-ups.
Cover art is NOT MANDATORY. We organize match-ups through the community for people who are do not wish to make their own, but if you are not interested in or do not qualify for the official art match-ups, feel free to do what suits you best.
For this year, Epic Podfic Big Bang will have the same schedule as Podfic Big Bang.

Cover Artists

Your mission is to claim the podfic of your choice and create a minimum of one work of cover art.
You may claim one podfic the first week after art claims open.
You may claim as many additional podfics as you wish after the first week of art claims.

Just so we’re all on the same page, this post will detail the differences between Podfic Big Bang 2017 and 2018.

1) This year, check-ins will be MANDATORY. The mods want to make sure that you have all the resources you need to finish the challenge, and that means staying updated on your progress. Check-ins are all on Saturdays and we will nudge you if you if we haven’t heard from you by the following Monday. Please leave your info in this Google form if we need to follow up with you.

2) After much deliberation, the mods have decided that Podfic Big Bang and Epic Podfic Big Bang will run concurrently, both posting between October 14 and 31. (This will likely change again next year.)

3) We’ve decided against the THEME aspect of previous rounds. Feel free to choose whatever story appeals to you.

4) We are bringing back beta listeners and cheerleaders! Neither of these are required, but we know that recording 10K, 50K, or more can be exhausting. If you are willing to cheerlead and/or beta listen to someone’s work, sign ups for that will go up in July.

5) Finally, Podfic Big Bang will no longer have a required posting format. We will still provide a posting format for those who want one. However, if you have your own format, please use it!
