Updates for Round 7 (2018)

Just so we’re all on the same page, this post will detail the differences between Podfic Big Bang 2017 and 2018.

1) This year, check-ins will be MANDATORY. The mods want to make sure that you have all the resources you need to finish the challenge, and that means staying updated on your progress. Check-ins are all on Saturdays and we will nudge you if you if we haven’t heard from you by the following Monday. Please leave your info in this Google form if we need to follow up with you.

2) After much deliberation, the mods have decided that Podfic Big Bang and Epic Podfic Big Bang will run concurrently, both posting between October 14 and 31. (This will likely change again next year.)

3) We’ve decided against the THEME aspect of previous rounds. Feel free to choose whatever story appeals to you.

4) We are bringing back beta listeners and cheerleaders! Neither of these are required, but we know that recording 10K, 50K, or more can be exhausting. If you are willing to cheerlead and/or beta listen to someone’s work, sign ups for that will go up in July.

5) Finally, Podfic Big Bang will no longer have a required posting format. We will still provide a posting format for those who want one. However, if you have your own format, please use it!

Are there gonna be additional signups for epic podfic, or will any podfic we post for the challenge that's long enough be counted as an entry for epbb?

Hi again! I saw that there was a question about "other forms of art" in the cover art request form, so I was wondering what was meant by that. Is it just visual art that doesn't come in a cover art format? Or does it include other mediums or, idk, remixes? Sorry if you guys have already explained that somewhere else, I think we all know by now how bad I am at remembering instructions ^^"

Some artists like to make various types of visual art that isn't cover art like, mood boards, gifsets, etc. (I once had an artist create 10 drafts of cover art for my project and encouraged her to post all of them.)

At this point, we are not accepting art in other media, like fanvids, fic remixes, or fanmixes.
