For the 2014 Podfic Big Bang, we had 6 thematic submissions (4 fix-it fics, 1 arranged marriage, and 1 soulmates) and 16 free-for-all submissions. That brings us to a grand total of 22 podfics with a cumulative total of 164+ hours. That's down a little from last year, but still very impressive. My thanks to the podficcers, artists, and betas who pulled through this year to bring us so many wonderful long podfics!

Summary: Jared has had a secret crush for months. But it's not like publishing genius and gay activist Jensen Ackles is going to notice the tall, weird guy pushing the mail cart. So when Jared's best friend and Jensen's assistant, Sandy, tells him that Jensen is getting married in one month to a fellow activist -- something about being the first gay couple to get married in the state -- Jared knows some things just aren't meant to be. And now Sandy is insisting that Jared help her plan the wedding. She thinks it's a good idea. Jared thinks she's nuts. Because the only thing this could lead to is heartbreak. Right?

Albus Dumbledore is dead, Severus Snape is the leader of the Order of the Phoenix, Minerva is the spy inside the castle, and the war wages on. When the Boy Who Lived, who died in an accident before he was old enough to go to Hogwarts, is found going about his business in the Muggle World, everything changes – for the Order, for the Wizarding world and especially for Severus Snape. As Severus tries to discover why Albus hid Harry Potter, Harry Potter discovers magic, friends and a godfather, but nothing interests him more than Severus. A retelling of the final destruction of Voldemort, by the Boy Who Lived for quite a different reason.

It's only been really, stupidly wrong about a couple of things in his entire life, which is why Jared's surprised when, twenty minutes after the first time he takes Jensen Ackles into the field, he finds himself crouched underneath an FBI suburban, bleeding all over his suit.

Reader's Notes: So. This is a project that I've had on the go for about six months now. The lovely

flaming_muse gave me permission to podfic (thank you!) and I recorded the majority of this back in April, but it's taken me this long to actually get the thing edited and re-recorded where needed. I'm not sure what the block was, but I think in part it's because this is special story to me but it's also tough in places and so this was quite an emotional thing to make. Luckily the Big Bang was just what I needed to give me the push to finish.

fire_juggler, who created the artwork, listened to an early draft and provided some much needed encouragement whilst I was angsting over this.

I also find it a satisfying alternative to some of the themes in the last Harry Potter books.
