Hey everyone! We are in the home stretch! How are your projects going? Exactly on track? Finished already? Far behind? We are so excited to see all the lovely podfic on November 1.

Date/Posting Reminders:
To submit your podfic (or art), post to the AO3 Collection Here. You can post to the collection at any time (we have 3 works already! yay!)
The collection will remain open (but unrevealed) until the end of October 31st.
The collection (and all your lovely podfic and art) will be revealed on November 1st.

Mine will be up today! Just finished editing the last chapter (and my eyes are full of tears again on this the fifth time through, so fair warning friends). Just a five minute "coda" to go.

Doesn't look like I'll finish the 2nd project I started but I'm still glad this got me to jump start it and I should be at least half way through recording it if not more which is good.

Pods 1, 2 and 3 are nearly ready! Some editing or formatting to do, but shouldn't be a problem.
Cover 1 is in the works but kind of lagging behind.

I have a question. I mainly use the internet archive for hosting (for the embedded cover and streamer and for downloading). Problem is, there is no way to set a file to private, so if I post my big bang podfics to it, someone looking at my profile, or someone who subscribed to the rss feed, would see them. I thought about naming them something like "this is part of an ongoing challenge, please do not open this" or whatever, but the cover would still be visible anyway. My secondary hosting is gdrive, and (to my knowledge) can't be used to embed stuff on ao3.

Should I: 1 host on gdrive only and call it a day
2 do the "please don't open this" thing and count on nobody knowing how to use the internet archive/using it to look for podfics anyway
3 find another hosting website that does the embedding thing, ???

hmmm... that is a tricky question. The safe way would be to host on gdrive until the reveal and then if you want embedding/streaming to change the hosting after. (or you could wait until the very last moment when the mods are bound to be asleep and post wherever you want bc it is going to be revealed in a couple of hours anyway.... but you didn't hear it from me!) And to be clear, we are not an anon challenge at all! It is entirely fine if people know what you are creating for it. If you feel confident that people will respect a "pls don't open" you could probably do that.

I'm here and still participating!! My podfic is nearly finished, just fussing around with sfx. I'm not sure whether my podfic actually got claimed for art or not in the end? so I'm also making a (basic/standard for me) cover image. I'll be adding my work to the collection probably early next week.

I am SUPER PUMPED to publish this. Making it has been on my mind for a few years now, and having this deadline is the only reason I finally got it done, and I'm so proud of the finished product ^_^
