So much editing ahead of me. So much editing. I need to listen to my first podfic again and see if I can find a logical scene break sound, because I'm never quite satisfied with a silent pause.
I'm almost done with preliminary edits of my Star Wars podfic. The fact that I cannot manage to pronounce Alderaan or Alderaanian consistently is a source of deep pain for me. Even as I type that I can't remember the correct way to say it. Help!
Unless I find an amazing level of podficcing dedication this month, I fear I may not finish the Harry Potter podfic in time. But I will push on. *determined*
My main piece is a 5 part story, and the parts are recorded, there's a music version (thanks to everyone for advice last time!), and there's a 'whole thing' version with and without music. After trying it myself, I'm hoping to get some covers from the Harvey Fandom Auction - I have a vision but no abilities!
Life has Happened, so although I still hope to get one more done, it's going to be a sprint finish! Like you, I suspect it's the editing that will kill me. Although I'm now doing that entirely on my iPad, which I at least have with me at all times. Editing podfic on the bus is kind of fun!
I am a fucking ~mess~. The goal was to finish recording before I started my new job and that hasn't happened. Then, I started a fandom fundraiser to help the people affected by Hurricane Harvey (harvey_fanaid), which gave me even less time to finish. DX
In the end, I donated to someone in harvey_fanaid to get help my with my editing. Since this is holiday weekend in the US, the new goal is to finish recording tonight, then spend Monday editing so I can send the podfic to my beta and my artist.
I'm doing good! I've finished recording and have the first 3 chapters edited. I have started school so I haven't gotten much more done. but on the other hand I now have travel time in which I can beta listen! We'll see how much editing I get done in the coming weeks (I'm hoping a fair amount and that studying doesn't take up all my time)
I just finished the first draft of my cover art too!
I finished one! I just need to give it a listen check to make sure there's nothing that needs fixing but it should be ready. I have vague ideas about what I'll try to do for cover art for it, so that's the next thing.
The other I'm at 2/7 parts which means there's an additional 50k left to record so...I'm not counting on that actually getting finished since I have only a handful of recording evenings between now and posting due to life/plans.
A Terrifying Clamour Of Trumpets is still 100% recorded and edited, but I only have 15% recorded and 3% edited of Practical Mythology due to real life stuff. I have a month, but it is a possibility that it won't be done by the deadline :(
I'm 100% done with podfic!!!! :D I'm waiting for time to post now! :D :D I'm debating about leaving it in 10 pieces (45 min - 1hr 15 min) chunks, or copy it so it's in two pieces for Part 1& Part 2.. but I donno if my computer can handle that much audio data..........

Date: 2017-10-09 01:48 pm (UTC)I'm kind of as surprised as anyone!
All 4 already have draft posts in AO3, because trying to do them all at the weekend sounded like a recipe for madness.
More madness.
Anyway, looking forward to final posting instructions!

Date: 2017-09-12 04:07 am (UTC)Also re-records because there was a part where my microphone would randomly insert a second or so of static instead of my words.
Now if only I could stop getting sidetracked with other fandom projects I could get this done.
