My Podfic Big Bang project, Meet Me Halfway To Your Heart, is completely recorded and edited, whoo! So I'll be filling out an art request soon.

For my Epic Podfic Big Bang, Blood, Coffee, & Motor Oil, I've recorded 10 out of 24 chapters and edited 6 of those. My goal is to be done by the end of September, since after that my life gets way too busy.

I think I'm okay without a beta for MMHTYH (although I wouldn't say no to one!), but I will definitely need a beta for Blood, Coffee, & Motor Oil. Sometime in September or October, probably.

I'm still recording Provenance by drinkbloodlikewine and whiskeyandspite.

I've recorded and edited 20% of this podfic. Even so, my progress isn't where I want it to be. I really need a cheerleader to keep me on track so that I work on this for at least one hour a day. The plan is to be finish recording by the end of June and editing by mid-July. That way, me & my beta will have time to find and fix any problems.

My biggest issue is getting distracted while recording. I always plan to sit down and record for 60 minutes, but get antsy pretty fast. Any suggestions on how to stay focused?

Uh, this is a weird method for staying focused, but if you're recording using a laptop, try recording with your device unplugged and not charging? I used to have to record with my laptop unplugged because my old mic would pick up a weird electrical background noise otherwise. And that forced me to basically say "okay. my computer is going to run out of battery in an hour, so I need to use that whole time to record or else I won't be able to try again until it's charged." Not sure if that helps, but maybe?

opalsong may have some better ideas for you, but I've found it helpful to set my reading goals as "record until I finish _____ scene or ____ chapter" rather than for a set period of time.

I really like reading from ebooks I download from AO3 to my Overdrive app on my tablet, because I know that I can comfortably read what the app counts as 30 pages in one sitting. It helps being able to watch my page count progress in the corner of the app. And then I promise myself a reward at the end, like a pot of the expensive tea I bought or an episode of a show I'm watching.

20% is good! Maybe sprinting would work? I often find that if I have a time deadline for editing (such as my 30min work break) I can focus in a way I can't if I have all the time in the world.

EDIT: I use eosrose's methods too! If I'm having a hard time I tell myself I need to finish the scene/the next X umber of scenes before I can stop and that helps (also sometimes I can get sucked back into the story by that point). Also rewarding myself - which I normally do with tiny podfics (if I finish this chapter then I can record that tiny thing that I've wanted to for a while)

OHHHH when i need to be held accountable for productiveness I try to talk twitter/random friends into being productive and doing sprints with me! GO FOR 20-30 5-10 break go again. :D ((I voluteer should you wanna productivity buddy, I've got all the editing and all the recording I gotta get done also!!!))

ahahahahAHAHAHA I have not recorded anything for like two weeks, but thats ok bc I know that when the deadline is slightly tighter I'll sit down and pod for like...5 days straight and have it all done. I did edit half of house proud tho, so theres that! I'm gonna be recording a bit today, and I think I'll stop faffing around w dishonored pods and record a couple of hours of bang pods

also ive started recording terroir by neverwinterthistle bc it hurt my soul to have 3 big projects and have none of them be in my fandom of choice. its only 10k, so im gonna attempt to have it done by the end of the day

So, Rose, I have a question...

Are you a robot? It's okay if you are. I won't tell anyone. But you have to be a podfic robot because that schedule is NUTS. How do you find the time? How do you keep it all straight? When do you sleep? Please tell me when you transcended humanity and became a podfic deity.

After not touching any podfic due to work stress I had a week where my roomie was house sitting and I managed to record the entire first fic of The Sum Of It's Parts and 2 chapters of a fic that weaves through the whole series and 2 chapters of the second fic. Since then I've only managed to record a single chapter but I'm hoping to regain momentum soon *fingers crossed* I've managed to edit just less than half of the first fic so that is not terrible.

I have decided that the first fic of the series is going to be my Podfic Big Bang project and that if nothing else the second and third will be my Epic PBB project. (The series is still over a million words without the first fic)

Someone made cover art for the series and I'm trying to get in contact with them to see if I can use it for the podfic but no luck so far :(

First I had to get my computer fixed (eventually happened in September) and it's taken me this long to get comfortable with my new computer and recording set up, so I only now feel like I can handle something this long again. I have recorded and edited two out of five chapters of my story for Podfic Big Bang. I was waffling on whether to record the sequel to this fic as well, thus qualifying for the Epic Big Bang, but I decided I have too much on my plate and I'm gonna stick to just the Podfic Big Bang.

Time to get on recording the third chapter so I can make an art request!

Sorry for the late check in!
Rose pretty much summed up our progress.
I have one fic totally recorded, with all the edits done. Currently planning on adding sound effects and music.
Our other three epic projects are partially recorded and edited, more progress every day.
One more big bang is partially recorded, just waiting for me to send the script to Rose.

My personal projects are going slightly more slowly, but will hopefully make some progress this weekend.

Another late check-in, ugh! Idk how I keep missing them when I have the dates marked in my calendar...

Anyway, I've recorded 3/5 chapters (about 50%) of my podfic for Big Bang and edited (including sound effects and everything) one chapter. Haven't had much time to work more on it bc exams, but the next few weeks are going to be much less stressful and I have a few days off coming up, sooo... I should be able to finish recording it soonish. :D

No progress on Epic BB because I haven't had the time, and I'm not entirely sure about the fic anymore, so... may switch projects for that one. But I'm confident I'll get it done either way. :D

i've recorded about 5k/25k, which is nowhere near as much as i wanted to get done by this point, but i'm gonna try and record just a scene a day instead of trying (and failing) to do longer bursts, so we'll see how that goes. i don't think i'll need a cheerleader, but i might need a beta, i've never made leverage podfic and i'm not sure i'm getting the tone right.

I've recorded 2/6 chapters of Exeunt, Pursued By Heteronormativity for the Big Bang. We just moved, so I ought to be able to record roughly one chapter per week from here on out. I've hardly ever enjoyed recording a fic as much as this one! If I can get my butt in gear maybe I'll put out an art request for it.
